Stargate SG-1: The Alliance, in development by Perception Studios has mercifully been canceled. Gamers can now rejoice that another garbage TV licensed game won't be taking up precious shelf space at your local videogame store. The game was based on the mediocre tv series shown on the Sci-fi Channel, and even though the show has overgone some serious overhauling this season with a new lead actor that can actually act (Ben Browder), the show is still only average at best.
This cancellation might be due to the eventual shut down of Perception Studios, and if these are the types of games that they were working on then maybe it is for the best. The last thing we need in the sea of mediocre videogame titles is another mediocre Hollywood licensed game based on a bad TV show.
How many times have I said it? Hollywood + videogames = BAD!
