We Cheer Looks... Interesting
In spite of the fact that many in the gaming media, which is full of insecure males, has already trashed this game I have to say that I'm surprised by We Cheer... In a good way. First of all this game is similar to the well received male cheerleading DS game Ouendan, and apart from the tapping the moves in We Cheer are very similar. Second, the difficulty doesn't seem to be a pushover.
The music in the videos doesn't come across as too girly either, though I'm sure there will be plenty of ultra girly songs available. I think the biggest issue male gamers have with this game is the fact that it's a game directed at girls - so instead of looking at it objectively they immediately bash it so they can have male internet cred.
I don't know how the final game will turn out, but it doesn't look bad so far. In fact I'm surprised more guy gamers aren't interested in this game because of the loli style cheerleaders and the myriad of upskirts that happen during the course of the game. I'd say that if the song selection isn't too bad I may even pick this game up.
All I think of when I watch these is Idolmaster toned down.
