EA's Skate It Doesn't have Basic Feature because of Wii?

In case you didn't know EA is making a Skate spin-off for the Wii called Skate It. On top of the fact that they are not planning to have online play the game also lacks another pretty basic feature that skating games have had for at least 7 years now - pedestrians.
If you listen to Scott Blackwood in the video above is sounds like he's saying that the Wii can't do pedestrians because it isn't a 360 or PS3. If he is saying that then he's an idiot. It goes without saying that if the PS2 can have Tony Hawk games with tons of pedestrians that the Wii obviously can too.
The excuses that these companies are making for their lack of effort on the Wii is reaching ridiculous levels. However, this is EA so it's expected.
