Wii Raincheck Program

posted 14 December 2007, Friday

It goes without saying that the record breaking demand for Nintendo's Wii has been anything but fun for all of those who haven't been able to get their hands on one, but Reggie Fils'Aime hopes to provide some consolation via a raincheck program that will allow aggravated parents to put something under the tree even though the actual Wii hardware won't be available until January.

Unfortunately this promotion is being run exclusively through Gamestop, and to get the promotion you have to pay full price up front. I don't like it, and I'm sure Gamestop will find a way to screw it up somehow, but if you're desperate for a Wii this is a much better option than giving in to the dirty scalpers who will charge you double or more.

Of course you can always head over to your local big chain electronics store early this Sunday morning and hope to be early enough to get your hands on a Wii. So make sure to check those circulars and good luck.
