World War Hulk is Crap
So I get the last issue in the World War Hulk series today and open it up to check out the grand finally. Almost immediately the mediocrity and letdown begin. The Hulk after going through all the trouble to make it back to earth to "avenge" his dead wife suddenly decides that he doesn't really want to kill anyone. No, no he just came to earth to teach everyone a lesson. You know beat them up a little for KILLING HIS WIFE AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. He also makes sure to remind them never to forget! Then after he decides to let everyone be free and happy he finds out that it was actually one of his own men that allowed his wife to die. What a load of bullshit.
After getting back into comics a year ago this garbage is just enough to get me to quit. After all the hype, after telling us that the Hulk was so mad that no one could stop him we get this insulting ending. I feel ripped off and lied to. I knew that Marvel wasn't going to do anything too drastic, like kill off Iron Man, but this? This is a slap in the face to all of their paying readers and they should be ashamed. After all the talk and all the posturing the Hulk didn't do shit. He didn't kill anyone important, he didn't even cripple anyone. He did absolutely nothing to affect the Marvel universe. The "big" return of the Hulk was a BIG joke that wasn't funny in the least.
It's no wonder the comic book industry is going down the toilet.
