Wii-less Christmas

posted 26 November 2007, Monday

One year later the Wii is STILL flying off of store shelves. Unfortunately this means that a lot of people won't be getting a Wii for Christmas. Making things worse are those filthy scalpers that are buying up the few that are available and trying to sell them for up to $600. Go check the used Wii section over at Amazon. It's ridiculous!

There is still time to get a Wii if you really want one, but you have to be willing to get up early, wait in a long line and stand next to idiots bragging about how much money they are going to make scalping Wii's. Just pay attention to your mailers and watch for those days that stores advertise having Wiis in stock - which is usually on a Sunday. Most importantly don't go to Ebay and pay $600 for a Wii.

At one time I complained about Nintendo's lack of supply, but there is no way in hell they ever could have imagined this kind of demand. It's a year later people, A WHOLE YEAR, and you still can't find a Wii in stores. It's unbelievable.
