Dattebayo takes down Anti-Youtube Notice
Since my last post about Dattebayo where I helped expose their guerrilla tactics in hijacking Youtube they seem to have taken down their anti-Youtube notice where they called for their minions to storm Youtube and flag any and all Naruto subbed episodes. Now it appears they've toned down their direct call to flag Naruto on Youtube:
"Dattebayo does not encourage the use of YouTube to watch our releases, as the quality suffers greatly, and it makes it difficult to track our releases. We ask people to please consider downloading the episode via our bittorrent download page rather than viewing on YouTube. On properly configured clients, it takes mere minutes to get the episode in full quality. Please do not send feedback asking how to properly configure your bittorrent client. "
I guess they became aware of their gross hypocrisy in posting someone else's TV show on the internet while not wanting "their work" posted on the internet. I'm pretty sure the anti-Dattebayo messages flooding Youtube had something to do with it too.
In spite of this, Youtube remains hijacked so don't expect to see anymore Naruto episodes there. Again, Dattebayo doesn't own Naruto and they can't claim ownership, copy write or anything else concerning the TV episodes that they add subtitles to. I urge you guys again to NOT support Dattebayo in any way, and for God's sake never give them money! There are plenty of people subbing Anime episodes and if Dattebayo disappears someone else will take their place.
I noticed they've taken it down too.
Bleach episodes are also being deleted like crazy. Ever since timecop fo Dattebayo posted the offensive opening joke about the VT massacre in what I think was Bleach 120, they've made BleachPortal stop hosting their subs. It's really a shame.
