Guess what happened to my 2 month old slim ps2

Two months ago I had reached my limit and I couldn't put up with my PS2's "disk read error" problems anymore. I decided to shell out the $150 dollars and get a "better" Slim PS2. When I got it I was happy that the games loaded really fast and I had NO more DRE problems.

Well, two days ago I decided to pop in an OPM disk to check it out and the PS2 failed to read it. I found it strange and tried many times. After a while it would play it fine for a minute then hang. I figured the disk was bad and moved on. Today I decided to try it out again and popped in the OPM disk. It started up but failed after a minute as usual. I decided to play some Primal, but to my surprise the game wouldn't start. I checked the browser and I saw the three words that I never thought I would see again - Disk Read Error! I figured the lens was dirty so I cleaned it up with some alcohol and still DREs. I popped in another game and guess what? More DREs. In my disbelief I put in yet another game and still I got disk read errors. I checked the cables, I reset the machine, I cleaned everything that could be cleaned yet, disk read error.

I can't begin to convey how absolutely FURIOUS I am at Sony for manufacturing shitty game hardware. In my book they cannot be trusted, and I will never pay full price for Sony hardware or games again. It is clear to me that they don't give a damn about quality and will sell you whatever cheap shit they can get away with. To all of you who have never had a problem with your Sony game hardware - get on your knees and thank God that you were one of the few lucky ones that didn't get crappy Sony goods. And all of you who plan on getting a PS3 should also get on your knees and start praying now that you don't get hosed like myself and so many other gamers.
