LucasArts Knows Wii Gamers want a Lightsaber Game

It bears repeating that the Wii is the perfect console to make a Star Wars Jedi game for. The Wiimote makes the perfect lightaber as you can move it around in 3D and hear the lightsaber noises out of its speaker. I can't tell you how good it would feel for myself, as well as many Wii gamers, to press the A button on the Wiimote and see a lightsaber shoot up on the screen as if it were coming right out of our hands. Luckily for us LucasArts, the people in charge of making Star Wars games, is well aware of the desire for a Wii Star Wars game saying, "even if that version does happen, it probably wouldn't be 'the lightsaber game' that gamers have eagerly been awaiting."

The quote is in reference to a Wii port of LucasArts upcoming next-gen SW game, Force Unleashed. While the tone seems to be negative towards the Wii you can gather one good thing from it - that LucasArts knows we want a kick ass lightsaber game for the Wii. It's not a lot to go on and there have been no promises or announcements, but at least they are aware of what we want and that can mean good things ahead.

I'll say it again. LucasArts would be morons not to jump on this and give Wii gamers what they want. It's not only an opportunity to make their fans happy, but it is also a chance to make the greatest Star Wars game ever made.
