Glimmer of Hope - No More Game Specific Friend Codes?

UPDATE: This rumor has been proven false... for now. LINK

Next Level Games Producer, Justin Dowdeswell, has just dropped what could be a massive piece of info about the future of online gaming for the Wii. In a French interview he supposedly said that game specific codes are out and will be replaced with Mii specific friend codes that do not change from game to game.

Chaque Mii créé génère un code Mii qui reste invariable par la suite. Ce code servira donc pour tous les autres jeux jouables en ligne dans le futur. - Justin Dowdeswell

I don't speak French so I can't tell you what he really meant when he said the above, and even if it does translate to what everyone thinks it does there is still no surety on the matter. Justin could have meant that his Mii codes won't have to be changed for future Mario Striker titles. The fact is that his comment needs a lot of expansion - A LOT - before I take his comment at face value and believe what he is saying.

Nintendo has confirmed game specific friend codes at least twice already so this news sounds too good to be true. They aren't the type of company that easily changes their mind once its made up so this news would also have to be confirmed by one of the big Nintendo execs. Maybe we will learn more at E3, but until we get lots of confirmation, and Reggie swearing on a Bible that game specific friend codes are out, I will take this news with a very large grain of salt.
