David Jaffe wants you to know He's an Independent Sony Lover

posted 7 February 2008, Thursday

The truth of the matter is we are an independent company. A lot of people said, "Oh, they're not independent, they're still working for Sony." Well, you know what? F--- you--we are independent. We get paid now based on milestones. We're independent in the sense that we are responsible for keeping our lights on, our doors open, and our people paid. So we are independent, f--- you very much. That said though, myself and Scott Campbell and some of these other guys, we have worked for Sony for 14 years now. We didn’t leave Sony because we didn’t like it. We're fans of their philosophy, we're fans of the people, we feel like they re family to us. We feel like we're part of their team and they feel like they're part of our team. And so from a console standpoint, we are honored they have chosen us. We're grateful for Sony. As long as they will have us, we're there for them. - David Jaffe, Eat, Sleep, Play

I find it hilarious that when asked if he had plans to make games for Nintendo or Microsoft he replied, "not really". Yet, you can see his tirade on how he really is independent of Sony. Sure he might be financially independent, but he's still a Sony fanboy. Why he gets angry that people refuse to view him as truly independent, especially when he openly admits wanting to work exclusively with Sony, is a mystery. All of Jaffe's games are being developed exclusively for Sony consoles and that is not likely to change any time soon.
