ATI & NVIDIA Possibly in Big Trouble over Price Fixing Allegations

posted 17 July 2008, Thursday

It has just come to my attention that ATI and Nvidia, the two major video card makers in the PC gaming industry are being sued for antitrust violations and allegations of price fixing and collusion. In basic terms the made secret deals to keep the prices high and invented a false rivalry to help in that regard. There is an email between the two that details these deals and a lot more evidence.

This news really angers me as the insanely high prices of video cards is the primary reason I don't game on my PC anymore. Every two months it was a new $500 video card and a new game that could only be played with that card. I hope these guys pay big time for screwing us all over.

Wow. That's harsh. I wonder what'll happen now?
